
Quality Technician required for position in a steel fabrication and aerospace environment. A technical qualification and/or sufficient industry experience required. Maintains quality standards by approving incoming parts, first-off inspections and finished product inspections, recording quality results, and generating various quality reports.

Responsibilities:
- Pre-plan and prepare First Article Inspection Reports in preparation for product arriving from Production.
- Approves first articles by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable parts, communicating required adjustments to production operators/supervisors.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, inputting data into quality database. Acquiring material and sub-contract certificates for submission with FAI Reports
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, calling for repairs and calibrations.
- Conduct various tests and quality checks on finished products. Ensure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances
- Verify production first off and last off samples by conducting visual and measurement tests to product specifications.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Quality Manager or Quality Engineers.
- Participate in the investigation and resolving of non-conformances, customer complaints and health & safety issues.
Professional Experience & Qualifications:
- A technical qualification and/or sufficient industry experience required.
- Advantage to have experience of dimensional measurement inspections using metric and imperial measurement units and be able to use calipers, height gauges, thread gauges.
- Experience in an FMCG, fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment with demonstrable and transferable skills is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of water treatment and waste-water treatment processes desirable.
- Good communication skills with the ability to deliver training and presentations to groups
- Willingness to learn.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office tools
- Proficient numerical ability to record, interpret and analyze key process data
- Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills
