Job Title

Road Freight Forwarding Supervisor required for Leading Global 3PL based in Dublin North. This role is available due to progression, a positive sign for the incumbent.

Role summary;

To ensure that Road Freight Customers are served from/in the managing branch. To support the Road Freight manager in the smooth running of the department within the branch through focus on Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture in adherence to the company’s policy and procedures.



  • Allocate workloads within the department.
  • Make sure department deadlines are being met in a timely manner.
  • Develop a become a solid #2 to support operations.
  • Ensure team meets company standards of 52 hours training per year per employee. Ensure that the new hires complete company’s mandatory training within the first 6 months.
  • Participate in employee appraisals and development meeting, and at a minimum once per year
  • Contribute to the effective weekly department meetings with team.
  • Review department goals and business plan periodically with team to ensure buy-in and accountability.


  • Create Export and/or Import files.
  • Track and Trace outbound and/or inbound Road Freight shipments.
  • Adherence to procedures as outlined in OPS and productivity standards.
  • Work with Manager to consistently follow-up various shipment reports.
  • Consistently follow-up exception reports to ensurecompany is meeting key event milestones within the life of a shipment.
  • Participate to vendors’ evaluation at defined intervals per company policy, focusing on areas of possible improvement with corrective action plans where needed.
  • Build and maintaining strong relationships with service providers and customers.
  • Customer Support the manager and or the sales department where needed:
  • Provide customer service to specific accounts.
  • Monitor shipment reports to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Interact with our customers in arranging their Road Freight shipments.
  • Respond to requests for proposal, quotation or information timely.
  • Take an active role in the transition of new business/ updates to existing business. Participate to retention calls and complete customer reviews to document in the CRM.


  • Accurate and timely billing of customers and vendors.
  • Make sure department deadlines are being met in a timely manner.
  • Monitor finance report (BNP).
  • Active role in AR follow up
  • Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and in being the role model of integrity and pride for all employees.
  • Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.
  • Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your branch.
  • Be involved and suggest system/process improvements.
  • Set the tone of this environment within your branch.
  • Data entry into our proprietary operating system.
  • Monitor shipment reports to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Active role in Branch Process Management program.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 - 3 years experience at Supervisory/Team Leader level within the Freight/Logistics Industry, specifically European Road Freight Forwarding.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate
  • Previous experience with Word, Excel, Windows, Email, various PC based software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management skills
  • A proven history of providing exceptional customer service at all levels. Behaviours:

Terms:       Permanent, Full-time (standard Mon - Fri office week)
