Our client, a privately owned Freight Forwarding company now seeks to hire an Ocean & Air Freight Forwarder for their offices based in Dublin 11.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Day to day operations in a busy office environment to include:

    ➢ Deal with customers:

    ➢ Quotations from direct & indirect customers

    ➢ Processing of Bookings

    ➢ Customs clearance / shipping documentation / insurance

    ➢ Queries

  • Organise collections & / or deliveries with suppliers / hauliers / partners
  • Negotiate rates with suppliers when applicable
  • Invoice customers and process suppliers’ invoices

Other activities such as:

    ➢ Ferry bookings

    ➢ PODs

    ➢ Other administrative duties (filing, etc...)

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the role to ensure full ownership.
  • Liaise with overseas partners to ensure the department is proactive in providing a quality operational performance.
  • Working in a busy fast paced environment, while maintaining quality and customer service.
  • Establish a good working relationship with other staff members, partners,sub-contractors and customers.
  • Maintaining and / or implementing good working practices & procedures to ensure that departments run efficiently and with professionalism.
  • Pro-actively look for continuous improvement with the department to ultimately provide the customers with an efficient and professional service.
  • Promote the company positively with customers, partners and suppliers through high quality of work, excellent communication, pro-active approach and positive attitude.
  • Other ad-hoc responsibilities as required

Minimum Requirements

  • 100% fluency and clarity in spoken and written English to standard of first language is essential
  • 3+ Years Sea Freight Forwarding experience
  • Airfreight experience - Advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent administrative skills: follow through tasks, queries etc. to completion
  • Excellent organisation, time management and planning skills

Terms:
Permanent, Full-time, Mon- Fri: 09:00am - 17:30pm flexible
