This position involves working in the ocean freight department, organising customer shipments by ocean to and from Ireland, from/to Origins throughout the world.
Main Responsibilities:
Export Duties will include:
- Check rates/costs at time of booking receipt to ensure accuracy and place booking with the shipping partner
- Oversee bookings from clients and arrange export to global destinations
- Organise transport for Sea freight shipments as required
- Create quotation/booking and convert to shipment
- Arrange customs export SAD and maintain files and adhere to quality systems as set out internally for Revenue regulations and AEO compliance
- Finalise invoicing & costs with billing team
Import Duties will include:
- Oversee FCL/LCL import consignments due into Ireland
- Confirm customs clearance handling requirements and set up customs entry for clearance.
- Calculate taxes and send the client the import entry to ensure payment is received in advance of clearance for duty/Vat costs outlay upon arrival
- Finalise invoicing & costs with billing team
- Solve Accounts Queries in a timely manner by email or phone, fast turnaround is required
Required skills and experience
- Candidate must have minimum 3 years experience in Sea Freight Operations
- Self-motivated with good communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Ability to work to deadlines and handle a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office applications.
- Time management and communication skills.
